Het proces [The Trial] was choreographed by Jaap Flier and was his first ballet. The ballet was danced on music by Jan Mul and inspired by Franz Kafka's novel of the same name. The world premiere was on January 20th, 1955 at the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague.

For more information, see the Theater Encylopedie.

Donated to Fondation Constant by Simone Rooskens in 2012.

According to the Theater Encyclopedie a production called De stoelen [The Chairs] by Sonia Gaskel premiered at the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague on the same day as Het Proces [The Trial]. Constant and Anton Rooskens are also listed as decor designers for this production.
