Cobra en het Stedelijk
CID
7103
This summer, the Stedelijk Museum presents a broad overview of works by Cobra artists. With about 80 works - mainly paintings, but also sculptures - this exhibition gives a good impression of one of the most interesting collections put together in the second half of the 20th century.
Besides well-known Dutch Cobra artists such as Karel Appel, Eugene Brands, Constant, Corneille, Anton Rooskens, and Theo Wolverkamp, many works by foreign Cobra members can also be seen, including those by Pierre Alechinsky (Belgium), Henry Heerup, Carl-Henning Pedersen and Asger. Jorn (Denmark). The overview is completed with works by artists who feel related to Cobra, such as Piet Ouborg, Robert Jacobsen, Lotti van der Gaag and Shinkishi Tajiri, but who, strictly speaking, did not belong to the Cobra group.
