Constant with his grandmother, Constantine Eugénie Clazine Petronelle De Kokelaer Bouwens, known as Constance, ca 1923. Constant was named after his grandmother, from paternal side. NB: Not available in high res!

According to Constant the photographer had given him a teddy bear and a dinky toy to pose with. Constant had thrown both toys in the corner and pointed at a book. After the photographer had given it to him, he posed quietly for the photo.
