With sculptor Nic. Tummers (b. 1928) Constant created the √2-omgang in 1965 for the exhibition ‘Nieuw Beelden’ (‘New Imaging’) at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, a play apparatus designed to constantly surprise its user with drop-offs, a springboard and ringing telephones.
